P.E. and School Sports

At St Paul’s, we are continually developing opportunities for our children to experience a wide breadth of P.E. and Sport.

Sports Ambassadors

We annually recruit Sports Ambassadors across the school to voice the opinions of each class. These pupils will have regular meetings with our P.E. Leader to discuss what clubs they would like, review the current clubs and to evaluate the effectiveness of PE. across the School.  This is a big responsibility for our ambassadors but they embrace their roles and hugely contribute to improving PE and Sport.

Football is one of our popular after school clubs.

We have a strong team of very enthusiastic players. During training they develop their passing skills, shooting, defending and game play.  We have seen big improvements in their performance and they are now experiencing many more successes when playing against other teams…go St Paul’s!

Swimming and Gymnastics

We make regular use of the great facilities on our doorstep and every week, our children make the most of the opportunity to swim and do gymnastics GL1 Leisure Centre.

National Curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety:

  • swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
  • use a range of strokes effectively
  • perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

Sports Day

Our annual Sports Day now takes place at Plock Court.  It is a day where we can share and celebrate our sporting skills and it's always great fun! Parents are encouraged to come along and cheer on their children. At lunch time share a picnic with them before the races in the afternoon.
